Whose idea was it to tailor shorts?? Tailored suits, slacks, and shirts all make sense. An over sized suit looks sloppy and unpolished. Over sized shirts brings back nostalgic images of wearing your father's favorite tee. But shorts should remain things of leisure, heat relief, and fun--not bespokemanship. I find tailored shorts as useful as sporks, skorts, or viral uploads of your aging k-9 on Youtube (and far less adorable).
As all men know, the 'gents' get swampy when there is little air circulation. Haven't they suffered enough during the countless board meets, boring lunches, and commuter rides to/from work? Why torment ourselves further during after-hours? The last thing I need are 'the boys' stuck to my leg at a club or bar due to lack of space. And is there a reason these shorts stop mid thigh? I do not want to see any man's thighs after four shots of Patron. This must be punishment by designers or a cruel joke played by women on well intentioned men.
Shorts need to remain athletic, loose, and well manly!! The last guy I saw wearing a pair of tailored shorts was on break from the beauty salon. If that description does not fit you, I'd suggest giving the 'boys' a break, enjoy the summer, and let [your shorts be] loose!!
